The American Feed Industry Association hosted its annual Liquid Feed Symposium last week, drawing more than 170 industry professionals to Fort Worth to discuss market forecasts, nutritional advancements and emerging challenges.
The three-day event, held Sept. 9-11, featured sessions on feeding fat and fatty acids to dairy cattle, geopolitical and tariff updates, and a panel discussion examining industry challenges for the next decade.
"This year's symposium provided an invaluable platform for industry leaders to gain insights on advances in nutrition, global trade, sustainability and emerging challenges," said Leah Wilkinson, AFIA's chief policy officer.
Participants also heard from the Institute for Feed Education and Research about sustainability initiatives and previewed an upcoming vitamin and amino acid research report.
During the symposium, animal nutritionist Paul Davis received the AFIA Liquid Feed Hall of Fame Award for his contributions to the industry, including pioneering research on liquid feed supplements.
The event's fundraiser auction generated $15,245 for the Kenny Berg Liquid Feed Research and Education Fund to support industry research and education efforts.
Attendees were also treated to a special evening with actor Barry Corbin, who shared stories and signed autographs.
The 2026 Liquid Feed Symposium is scheduled for Sept. 9-11 in Kansas City, Missouri.
