The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) recently participated in the Seventh International Poultry Meat Congress in Antalya, Turkey, seeking to expand sales of U.S. corn fermented protein (CFP) and distiller's dried grains with solubles (DDGS) in the country.
During the three-day event, USGC representatives attended sessions on poultry production and met with leading Turkish poultry feed producers. Carlos F. Suárez, USGC Director of Global Sustainability, presented on the environmental benefits of DDGS in poultry feed, highlighting its potential to reduce emissions and waste.
Ana Maria Ballesteros, USGC Deputy Regional Director for Europe and the Middle East, noted Turkey's significance as an export partner for U.S. agriculture, particularly in DDGS. She emphasized the untapped potential in the market if CFP and DDGS feed blending increases.
The delegation's discussions with local industry leaders provided valuable insights into feed formulations and the use of U.S. corn co-products in poultry diets. These conversations are expected to help capitalize on further export opportunities with Turkey, currently the largest U.S. DDGS export partner in the Middle East and Africa region.
This initiative aligns with USGC's ongoing efforts to promote U.S. grain products and support the growth of international markets for American farmers and agribusinesses.
