The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) hosted its annual Purchasing and Ingredient Suppliers Conference (PISC) March 18-20, bringing together more than 600 feed industry professionals for three days of education, networking and business meetings.
Jessica Morse, AFIA's director of meetings and events, highlighted the conference's success in fostering business relationships, saying, "PISC is known for creating an environment where attendees can make meaningful connections and get business done."
The event featured educational sessions covering topics such as:
- Legislative and regulatory updates from Washington, D.C.
- The highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak in U.S. poultry and dairy cattle
- Opportunities in artificial intelligence and carbon markets
- Economic outlook
Attendees also participated in networking activities, including golf and pickleball tournaments, puppy yoga, and various receptions.
As part of its market expansion efforts, AFIA hosted six Brazilian feed ingredient buyers who held over 40 meetings with U.S. suppliers.
The Institute for Feed Education and Research (IFEEDER) launched an individual giving campaign at the conference, raising nearly $4,000 for future research, education and sustainability projects.
AFIA announced that the 2026 PISC will take place March 9-11 in Fort Worth, Texas.
