The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) is set to host a pivotal educational program at the upcoming International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, Georgia, from January 28-30, 2025. The session, titled “What’s Keeping the Feed Industry Up at Night?” will take place on January 29 from 10 a.m. to noon ET, focusing on pressing issues within the animal food sector.
“The animal feed industry is constantly evolving to meet nutritional requirements and address animal health challenges,” stated Paul Davis, Ph.D., AFIA’s director of quality, animal food safety, and education. “This symposium will bring together voices from the industry to provide attendees with a better understanding of some of the current challenges in which manufacturers are adapting.”
The two-hour program will feature expert speakers discussing critical topics, including:
- The recent presence of highly pathogenic avian influenza in dairy cows and its implications for feed safety.
- The ongoing battle against African swine fever and its impact on feed production.
- Strategies for bridging the nutrient gap as animal genetics advance faster than published nutritional requirements.
Attendees of the program will also have the opportunity to earn two continuing education credits through the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists, making this session a valuable addition to their professional development.
Registration for “What’s Keeping the Feed Industry Up at Night?” is now open, with an early-bird rate of $79 available until January 10, 2025. Those interested in attending are encouraged to register early to secure their spot. Additional details about the agenda and registration can be found on the AFIA website.
