The Journal Gazette reported that three locomotives out of Decatur, IL, were eastbound heading for North Carolina when five cars went off the tracks about 2 a.m., according to Norfolk Southern spokesman Jon Glass. The five cars were on the end of an 85-car train, and spilled 125 tons of corn. No one was injured, and Norfolk Southern Corp. officials are still investigating the cause of the derailment.
