Great Opportunities Await at IPPE

The annual Expo takes place Jan. 31 to Feb. 2 in Atlanta

January gives us a chance to reflect on the past, plan for the new year and start anew. That’s why it’s perfect that January also brings the annual International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE), the perfect place to get a mile-high view of the feed industry. The expo is a collaboration of International Feed Expo, International Meat Expo and the International Poultry Expo, the annual trade shows for American Feed Industry Association, North American

Meat Institute and U.S. Poultry & Egg Association. It runs Jan. 31 to Feb. 2 in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center.

IPPE has already eclipsed 510,000 square feet of exhibit space and is in excess of 1,100 exhibitors 2017. Show organizers are planning on more than 30,000 attendees at the event, which can feel a little overwhelming. This guide will point to some of the events that will be particularly useful for any feed industry employees that may be attending the Expo.

Networking

There are multiple chances at every IPPE to meet people from around the world and share knowledge and information. There are those you meet in the educational sessions and the trade show floor, to the hungry competitors at the annual chicken wing eating contest. But if you need to meet a number of people in a short amount of time in one place, the IPPE’s Welcome Reception at the Georgia Aquarium is a must-attend event.

The reception takes place Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and is free to attend. Attendees can chat with other professionals both domestic and international while enjoying a world-class aquarium. Tickets are free but space is limited, so pick up a sticker at the reception kiosk in the B-Building and C-Building lobby at the Georgia World Congress Center.

Education

With the Food Safety Modernization Act on the minds of everyone in the industry, the Veterinary Feed Directive in play, and a host of other regulations being updated, keeping up with everything can be daunting. That’s why AFIA offers a host of education sessions to keep your mill and business up to date.

At only $100 for registration, IPPE is a great opportunity for those in the feed industry to learn about what’s happening in the field and provides an opportunity for career development at an affordable price.

Make sure to flip through the following pages to find what products and equipment some of the most innovative companies in the industry will be bringing to the show and where you can find them.
