KTIV's Dean Welte and Sophie Wyckoff reported on a dust explosion occurred Monday afternoon at Little Sioux Corn Processors in Cherokee County, Iowa. The blast, reported around 4 p.m., damaged a dust collector in the grain receiving bag house but did not affect the ethanol plant across the railroad tracks, which remains operational.

Fire officials described heavy smoke but no open flames upon arrival. All personnel were accounted for, with only a truck driver sustaining minor injuries. The facility is temporarily offline south of the tracks pending investigation. Little Sioux Corn Processors produces about 170 million gallons of ethanol  annually.
