AGP's new soybean processing plant is in the final stages of development but is not currently processing, says Matt Caswell, AGP vice president of member/corporate relations and government affairs.

According to the Aberdeen News, the plant will crush 45 million to 50 million bushels of soybeans annually and employ 50 to 55 people.

Truckloads of soybeans have been coming in and out of the plant for tests for about four weeks now, Caswell says.

Other finishing touches currently underway include installing computer systems and testing conveyor belts. All major infrastructure has already been completed, Caswell says.
