ADM has announced the rollout of its Digital Grain Elevator's FOB Ag Logistics Platform across a significant number of U.S. grain origination locations. This initiative aims to enhance grain transportation and delivery efficiency for producers and freight partners, responding to the increasing demand for traceability in supply chains.
The FOB Ag Logistics Platform serves as an all-in-one mobile tool designed to simplify the grain transportation process. Key features of the platform include:
- Digital dispatch: Producers and carriers can quickly and easily request and dispatch trucks as needed.
- Real-time visibility: Users gain access to live delivery information, including location updates and estimated time of arrival (ETA).
- Digital invoicing and ticketing: The platform eliminates cumbersome manual paperwork, streamlining the invoicing process for both producers and carriers.
Alicia Ralston, ADM's Vice President of Digital Transformation, emphasized the benefits of the technology, stating, "The successful implementation of this technology across a broad part of our North American footprint is already helping us work with our partners – including our producer customers, commercial grain shippers, carriers, and owner-operators – to simplify and streamline the work we do together." She added that the technology has led to more efficient dispatching, faster payments through automatic invoicing, and a commitment to further expanding its use.
Innovation remains a cornerstone of ADM's growth strategy. Ralston noted that the rollout of the Digital Grain Elevator aligns with the company's broader efforts to enhance its technology ecosystem and meet customer needs. Recently, ADM announced its new Gradable joint venture, aimed at advancing its regenerative agriculture program and meeting the rising demand for sustainably sourced products.
"This partnership with ADM is a significant step forward for the future of Ag transportation," said Aaron Secrest, CEO of Digital Grain Elevator, Inc. "By simplifying dispatch, tracking shipments, digital ticket integration, and automated invoicing, we're creating a more streamlined and transparent experience for everyone involved."
Currently, the FOB Ag Logistics Platform has been implemented in ADM's eastern grain regions, including Decatur and East Central Illinois, Mendota, Illinois, Evansville, Indiana, Frankfort and Central Indiana, Toledo, Ohio, Windsor, Ontario, and Memphis, Tennessee. The company is set to continue its expansion across its North American origination footprint, enhancing collaboration and efficiency throughout the grain supply chain.
As ADM advances its digital capabilities, the rollout of the FOB Ag Logistics Platform represents a significant step in transforming agricultural logistics, positioning the company to better serve its partners and respond to the evolving demands of the marketplace.
