Farmers Co-Op Elevator Co. Inc. broke ground on a new facility to expand and relocate its Hudsonville, MI, business divisions, Box and Basket and Michigan Turf and Ornamental.

Adjacent to its mill facility in Zeeland, MI, the new site will consist of a 40,000-square-foot warehouse with multi-row racking, outside storage capacity and a 3,000-plus-square-foot retail area. A partial second floor mezzanine will accommodate offices for administration, sales and a multi-purpose meeting room.

Completion of the new facility is expected in April 2022.

“This expansion will allow us to continue to serve our members and customers with increased efficiency in a way that matches the way our industry is growing and changing,” says Paul Pyle, chair of the Farmer Co-Op board of directors.
