Four Iowa biofuels companies have donated ethanol and other ingredients, to be made into hand sanitizer after shortages due to the COVID-19 epidemic, reports KTVO.

Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy (SIRE) and Lakeview Plymouth Energy joined Absolute Energy and Western Iowa Energy in donating ethanol.

The hand sanitizer that's made from these donations will be produced by Iowa Prison Industries (IPI) and distributed by the state for free, according to the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA).
