VAA annouces the promotions of Doug Nagel, PE, and Paul Murphy, who were both promoted to senior associate. Three new associates have also joined VAA’s Leadership Team: Senior Civil Designer Nick Hubbard; Senior Structural Designer Mason Rehbein, LEED AP; and Senior Civil Engineer Landon Pohl, PE.
Doug Nagel, PE, focuses on designing grain storage silos, building and non-building structures in seismic zones and evaluations of equipment replacements and retrofits. Earning his role as a senior associate, his technical and drawing preparation skills allow him to provide clients with designs that are accurate and drawings easy to understand in the field. Nagel also serves the engineering community as an associate member of the ACI Committee 313, which produces resources outlining engineering design and construction requirements for concrete bins and silos.
Prior to joining VAA, Paul Murphy worked for a design-build contractor where he acquired information on process equipment services and slipform construction. He is a proven provider of the level of engineering, planning and communication required to effectively facilitate construction activities. Paul’s reputation in the industry to provide clients with quality constructable designs is incorporated into the projects he manages at VAA.
Senior Civil Designer Nick Hubbard is responsible for the engineering, design and production of sitework and rail projects from schematic design through construction. Mason Rehbein, LEED AP, senior structural designer, ensures quality control through peer reviews and as an advocate for using 3D modeling in project coordination. As one of the original Revit users at VAA, Rehbein’s program knowledge has made him a “glitch fixer” when others experience software problems. As the civil point of contact for one of the Midwest’s well-known Fortune 500 companies, Senior Civil Engineer Landon Pohl, PE, has maintained a level of project work and client management that continues to strengthen this relationship.
