Clean Fuels Alliance America and 10 other national trade groups have jointly urged EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin to establish robust, multiyear Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS) for 2026 and beyond. The coalition, which includes the American Petroleum Institute, represents a diverse range of fuel producers, marketers, and agricultural feedstock suppliers.
In their letter, the groups emphasize that strong RFS volumes would accurately reflect ongoing investments in feedstocks and production capacity, as well as increased demand from new markets such as marine, rail, and aviation. They argue that the RFS has enhanced U.S. energy security, strengthened the agricultural industry, and provided lower-carbon fuel options since its enactment.
Kurt Kovarik, Clean Fuels Vice President of Federal Affairs, highlighted the industry's significant investments in increasing production of biodiesel, renewable diesel, and sustainable aviation fuels. He noted that these efforts aim to meet growing demand for clean energy while delivering affordable and reliable advanced biofuels.
The coalition's united stance underscores the importance of the RFS in driving American energy dominance and supporting the growth of the renewable fuels sector. The full letter is available on the Clean Fuels Alliance America website.
