Chemlock Nutrition, a developer of advanced mineral and vitamin technologies for animal nutrition, announced the appointment of Simon Walley as CEO. Walley brings more than 25 years of global experience across the human and animal nutrition sectors, having held senior leadership and board roles at Fonterra, Danisco Animal Nutrition (now IFF), Biomin (now DSM-Firmenich), and most recently as president of ADM Animal Nutrition North America.
“I’m excited to join a company with extraordinary momentum, a culture that makes everything feel solvable, and that already matches my own philosophy of prioritizing being useful to the customer,” said Walley. “Chemlock’s trajectory is extraordinary. The team has developed a portfolio of truly unique solutions, has an even stronger pipeline, and the opportunity ahead for global expansion is tremendous.”
Chemlock Nutrition co-founders Arun Mehan and Kris Mehan will remain integrally involved in day-to-day operations. Arun will serve as chairman and Kris will serve as chief strategy officer and vice chair.
“Our dream has always been to leverage unique chemistry from other sectors to help accelerate animal agriculture's potential," said Kris Mehan. "Bringing in a CEO of Simon's caliber helps us bring that dream to more species, more geographies, and more customers than ever before.”
Founded in 2010, Chemlock began as a mineral and metals provider for industrial applications before expanding into animal nutrition in 2014. The company’s breakthrough came with the launch of Nutrilock Hydroxy Minerals and Nutrilock Chromium in 2017–2018, driving annual growth through 2020.
After raising outside capital in 2021, Chemlock began to assemble a seal team of industry experts and invest in in-house novel R&D capabilities. Over the past four years, the company has introduced major advances including Nutricow CalBal, Nutrivit Puri-D, and CalBal Pro, with additional solutions slated for release in 2026 and 2027.
