Behlen, a diversified manufacturer based in Columbus, Nebraska, has acquired the assets of Sweet Manufacturing Company, a family-owned business in Springfield, Ohio. The acquisition brings together two companies with a combined history of over 150 years in the manufacturing sector.

Alicia Sweet Hupp, president, CEO, and principal owner of Sweet Manufacturing, expressed confidence in Behlen's ability to carry forward the company's 69-year legacy. "Together, Sweet and Behlen are well positioned to offer a broader range of solutions for the grain, feed, and industrial storage and handling industry," Hupp said.

Tony Raimondo Jr., chairman of the board of Behlen, emphasized the alignment of the companies' cultures and commitment to customer service. "We are excited to welcome Sweet into the Behlen family and look forward to a bright future together," Raimondo stated.

Behlen, established in 1936, will continue to manufacture Sweet-branded products at the Springfield location. The acquisition expands Behlen's product offerings in the grain and feed industries, adding to its diverse portfolio that includes farm and ranch equipment, metal building systems, and grain storage solutions.

This marks Behlen's 14th acquisition since returning to local ownership in 1984, further solidifying its position as a leader in agricultural and industrial manufacturing. The company, with additional locations in Oregon, Texas, and Florida, now extends its reach to Ohio, enhancing its ability to serve customers nationwide.
