Romer Labs, a leading provider of diagnostic solutions for the food and feed industry, has announced that its AgraStrip Pro Total Aflatoxin WATEX test kit has received official approval from the USDA Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS).
The certification (FGIS 2025-192) confirms the kit's ability to accurately quantify aflatoxins in various corn products, including dent corn, corn meal, flour, cracked corn, grits, and screenings. The test kit, which uses a water-based extraction method, was evaluated alongside the AgraVision Pro reader and met USDA-FGIS requirements across multiple ground corn samples.
Kurt Brunner, Managing Director of Romer Labs, stated, "This USDA-FGIS approval further demonstrates our commitment to providing high-quality testing solutions for the food and feed industry."
The AgraStrip Pro WATEX test system allows for rapid, on-site quantification of mycotoxins in various commodities. When used with the AgraVision Pro reader, it enables simultaneous testing of up to four samples in an automated process.
The system covers six analytes, including aflatoxins, deoxynivalenol, zearalenone, total fumonisin, ochratoxin A, and T-2/HT-2. Notably, the AgraStrip Pro Ochratoxin A WATEX and AgraStrip Pro Zearalenone WATEX® test kits have also received USDA-FGIS approval, highlighting the platform's reliability and versatility.
This approval strengthens Romer Labs' position in providing efficient, on-site mycotoxin testing solutions for the agricultural and food processing industries.
