The U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council recently escorted a team of medium-sized poultry producers to the 25th Central American and Caribbean Poultry Congress to explore industry trends and technologies.

USGBC Marketing Specialist Diana Correa and Regional Programs and Special Projects Manager Sierra Richey accompanied the layer specialists to the event, which featured four specialized breakout sessions and a trade floor with more than 30 companies.

"As demand for poultry ramps up in Latin America and around the world, medium-sized producers play a crucial role in the continued growth of the industry," Richey said.

The conference sessions covered industry trends, nutrition, health and farm management, while the trade floor showcased genetics, feed and equipment innovations.

Participants from seven Latin American countries attended the congress.

"Our participants were extremely grateful for the opportunity," Correa said, noting that such partnerships create opportunities for both the U.S. grain industry and regional stakeholders.
