In 2022, we saw COVID retreat and form a return while a Russian invasion into Ukraine wreaked havoc on supply chains and markets. High inflation arrived while global recession threatens. The grain industry had supply chain headaches on land, sea and rail this year as it saw an averted rail strike, historically low river levels and high diesel prices.

As the year comes to a close, the industry continues to see an amazing amount of facility upgrades and renovations in response to aging domestic material handling equipment, but also rising demand for co-products like soybean oil.
