Cargill Buys Dakota Plains Agri Center

Cargill plans to operate two facilities, sell three others in South Dakota

Cargill has agreed to acquire Agrex, Inc.’s interest in the Dakota Plains Agri Center – a joint venture between Agrex, Inc. and Cargill, located in South Dakota.

According to Bridget Christenson, media relations director, Global Ag, Tech & Trading, Cargill will fully transition Dakota Plains into Cargill’s operations.

All existing Dakota Plains grain contracts remain in force and will be transitioned to Cargill.

Cargill will operate facilities at Beardsley and Napa with plans to sell the facilities in Parkston, Scotland and Tripp.

Dakota Plains Ag Center is a joint venture between Agrex Inc. and Cargill, which started in July 2013. The main facility is located six miles south of Tripp, SD.
