The fire, located in a basement hopper of the six-story grain structure, prompted a response from 17 La Vergne Fire & Rescue personnel, mutual aid from Smyrna Fire Department, and police support for traffic control. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire Chief Ronny Beasley praised the effective pre-fire planning that aided the response.
