
KCCI-TV reported that Marion County authorities recommended evacuation for about 100 residents in and around Otley, Iowa, Tuesday morning due to a fire at Two Rivers Cooperative's fertilizer storage facility. The fire, which started Monday, involves over 1,000 tons of chemicals including sulfur.
Officials expect the fire to burn for days. No injuries have been reported. The cause remains unknown.
Residents needing evacuation assistance are urged to contact Marion County Emergency Management. Travel around Otley has mostly returned to normal, except for roads directly surrounding the fire site.
