No injuries reported after Kansas grain elevator explosion

The explosion was confined to the elevator's internal structures, caused no external damage or injuries.

Carina Branson reported on a explosion at a grain elevator for ksn.com. Emergency crews responded to an explosion at a grain elevator in southwest Kansas on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred at the Alliance Ag and Grain concrete elevator, according to Britt Lenertz, Comanche County Emergency Management Director.

Upon ensuring entry safety protocols were met, firefighters entered the elevator to evaluate the situation. Lenertz reported on Facebook, “The explosion was contained to the outside leg of the elevator, grain pit and interior structures with no exterior damages occurring to the elevator.”

There were no injuries reported in the incident. The cause of the explosion is yet to be determined and investigations are likely to follow.
