Multiple agencies were involved in the successful rescue of a Boone County, Iowa, farmer that had become trapped in a grain bin Monday afternoon, reports KWBG.
Fire crews were dispatched Monday shortly before 5 p.m. for a subject trapped in a grain bin north of Boone.
When firefighters arrived on scene they found a male victim trapped in grain and by auger equipment. The victim had been in the grain bin for approximately two hours prior to the victim being discovered.
Firefighters used their grain rescue tube and associated equipment along with a grain vacuum provided by a local farmer to remove the grain from around the victim to free him. Once freed, he was transported to the Boone County Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
