Managers are still evaluating the losses and considering their next steps forward in the aftermath of the fire at Columbia Grain in Belgrade, MT, last Friday, reports NBC Montana.

“The plan in place right now is to remove the old wooden crib house structure there and the adjoining steel tanks," Columbia Grain Senior Vice President of the Grain Division Kurt Haarmann told NBC. "Those provide the greatest risk right now, in terms of making it a safe site.”

Haarmann says the loss will exceed $1 million in inventory alone. The silos held around 120,000 bushels of grain, over 7 million pounds.

Haarmann also notes there are no plans in place to rebuild right now. Cleanup is expected to take several days.
