KREM2's Regan Gallo reported that several first responder agencies conducted a high-angle technical rescue early Friday morning after finding the man atop the silo. Residents reported seeing a large scene of emergency response vehicles in the typically quiet area.
The student was airlifted to a regional trauma center via Life Flight. The incident occurred hours after Eastern Washington University’s senior send-off event Thursday and one week before graduation.
This marks the second grain silo accident in the region within a week. A man fell 25 feet from a grain silo in Whitman County, Washington, and was airlifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center. That incident remains under investigation.
