The U.S. winter wheat average yield of 47.9 bushels/acre is 2.3 bushels less than in 2017, says a report from AgriNews.
The area harvested was 24.742 million acres compared to 25.291 last year.
U.S. winter wheat production of 1.18 billion bushels is down 7% from the previous year.
Record high yields were estimated in Louisiana (65 bushels per acre), Montana (50), and Nevada (120) for 2018.
