A grain elevator and feed mill near Springfield, SD, has been declared insolvent, and the state will work with the operation’s liquidation along with a receivership, if needed, reports the Yankton Daily Press & Dakotan.
The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission (PUC), which monitors the grain industry, took final action Monday on Kingsburg Grain and Feed.
Kingsburg Grain and Feed had surrendered its grain buyer’s and grain warehouse licenses last week. The business will no longer receive grain.
“Please note that another grain buyer is licensed at the same location," PUC staff attorney Kristen Edwards told the Daily Press & Dakotan. "The license of the other grain buyer is separate from and unaffected by this filing."
