Ukraine has secured 29 new export destinations for agricultural and food products in 13 countries and the European Union since the start of 2026, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection said Monday.
The agency said the total is the highest for any year since at least 2022, according to its statement as carried by Interfax-Ukraine and Ukrinform. Since 2022, Ukraine has opened 75 new markets, bringing its agricultural products access to 386 trade destinations, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
For the grain sector, the most notable approval is flour to China. The agency said the list includes processed products as well as raw materials, which it said expands opportunities for Ukrainian companies to ship finished goods and develop processing at home.
Feed and animal by-products make up a separate group of decisions. Ukrainian producers can now ship pet food to Egypt and South Korea, processed feed to Albania and plant-based feed to Georgia. Georgia also approved certificates for several animal by-products, including processed animal protein and rendered fats.
Livestock and animal protein approvals cover cattle to Algeria for slaughter, fattening and breeding, and sheep to Egypt for immediate slaughter. Beef and beef products gained access to Iraq, Georgia and Ivory Coast, which also approved poultry meat. Egypt approved table eggs, egg products and fish products, Vietnam approved egg products and Chile approved milk and dairy products. Moldova cleared live snails, snail eggs and some meat products, while the EU approved planting material for sour cherry, grey cherry, their hybrids and eight maple species.
The approvals are veterinary and phytosanitary agreements. They set the conditions under which Ukrainian products can enter each partner country, which the agency said lets producers plan exports, widen their product range and look for new buyers. They are not sales, and the agency did not release expected volumes or values.
The openings come as attacks on Black Sea shipping weigh on Ukraine's grain trade. The World Bank said Wednesday that Ukraine's wheat exports in August were nearly 70% lower than a year earlier. The food safety agency said it will continue working to expand access for Ukrainian products in international markets.
