US wheat sales reach 313,100 metric tons

The European Commission adopted a plan to increase European-grown protein crops for animal feed from 25% to 35% by 2035, reducing dependence on imports.

U.S. exporters reported net wheat sales of 313,100 metric tons for the 2026/2027 marketing year during the week ending July 2, according to the Weekly Export Sales Report from the Department of Agriculture. South Korea led purchases at 101,000 metric tons, followed by Nigeria at 100,000 metric tons and Mexico at 68,600 metric tons.

Wheat exports totaled 194,200 metric tons, with Mexico receiving 98,500 metric tons and Ecuador taking 35,200 metric tons.

Corn exports climb

Net corn sales reached 565,800 metric tons for 2025/2026, down 23 percent from the previous week and 38 percent from the prior four-week average. Mexico topped the list with 168,900 metric tons, followed by Japan at 162,900 metric tons and Colombia at 149,800 metric tons.

For the 2026/2027 marketing year, corn sales totaled 401,700 metric tons. South Korea purchased 136,000 metric tons while Japan bought 112,000 metric tons.

Corn exports hit 1,839,700 metric tons, up 1 percent from the previous week and 4 percent from the four-week average. Mexico received 569,800 metric tons, Colombia took 342,200 metric tons and Japan imported 312,000 metric tons.

Soybeans show strength

Soybean sales for 2025/2026 totaled 54,300 metric tons, up 30 percent from the prior week but down 81 percent from the four-week average. China led with 202,100 metric tons, followed by Japan at 60,500 metric tons and Mexico at 55,500 metric tons.

Exports reached 574,900 metric tons, up 48 percent from the previous week and 47 percent from the four-week average. China received 268,100 metric tons while Mexico imported 92,200 metric tons.

Other commodities

Rice sales reached 23,900 metric tons for 2025/2026, up 17 percent from the previous week. Haiti purchased 13,500 metric tons and Saudi Arabia bought 5,000 metric tons.

Cotton sales totaled 66,400 running bales for 2025/2026. Vietnam and India each purchased roughly 23,000 running bales.
