Winter wheat prospects have improved dramatically in the United States, reports The Western Producer.

The crop got off to a rocky start with a dry fall followed by a two-week spell of very cold winter temperatures.

It has rebounded nicely, however, with well-timed rains arriving just as the crop was coming out of dormancy.

Almost the entire U.S. HRWW area received timely precipitation, with the exception of the western part of the Dakotas and southeast Colorado.
