Ardent Mills has unveiled plans to expand its mill in Commerce City, Colorado, signaling a significant investment in the Mountain West's burgeoning food market. This initiative aims to enhance the mill's efficiency and capacity, positioning Ardent Mills to better support increasing customer demands in the region.

Sheryl Wallace, CEO of Ardent Mills, highlighted the company's dedication to Colorado, where it has been based for two decades. "This region's substantial population growth has amplified demand for food manufacturing and supply. Our investment will equip Ardent Mills to meet current market needs and future demands effectively," Wallace stated.

The expansion is part of Ardent Mills' strategic commitment to long-term sustainability and reliable service in the market. It also reaffirms the company's role in supporting community growth and economic development in Commerce City and the broader Mountain West region.

Brian Phetteplace, deputy director of economic development for Commerce City, expressed enthusiasm for Ardent Mills' ongoing contributions. "Ardent Mills has been a key partner in our region's economic development. This expansion not only strengthens our local economy but also ensures continued support for our community's nutritional needs," Phetteplace said.

The Commerce City mill, operational since the 1930s and last updated in 1999, is set for a significant upgrade. The project will modernize existing equipment and increase production capacity to keep pace with the growing demands of Colorado's manufacturing and agricultural sectors.

Jenni Hall, director of community and economic development for Adams County, noted the mill's critical role in the local agriculture industry. "Ardent Mills has been a vital support to our state's agricultural and manufacturing jobs. This expansion underlines our confidence in the Colorado market and its significance in the national supply chain," Hall commented.

The groundbreaking for the expansion is scheduled for this summer, with completion targeted by the end of 2026. This development promises to enhance Ardent Mills' capabilities and ensure it continues to play a pivotal role in feeding communities across and beyond Colorado.
