G3 Canada has officially opened its new grain elevator in Rycroft, Alberta.
The new grain elevator celebrated its grand opening August 2 with community members and VIP guests on site for tours, lunch, speeches and a ribbon cutting at the facility about 45 miles north of Grande Prairie.
G3 Rycroft has a capacity of 42,000 metric tonnes, high-capacity grain receiving that can unload a Super-B truck in less than five minutes, and a loop track that can load a 150-car train in a matter of hours.
“We’re excited to part of the community, and eager to earn the business of farmers in the Rycroft area and beyond with our commitment to great customer service,” said Don MacDonald, vice president of operations.
G3 currently has 18 grain elevators across Western Canada including two which in 2021: G3 Vermilion, AB, and G3 Swift Current, SK. G3 Terminal Vancouver, a state-of-the-art grain export terminal on the West Coast, opened in 2020.
