Officials with the Gavilon Grain elevator in downtown Henderson, KY, showcased $3.5 million in improvements made to the facility over the last four years during an open house Tuesday evening.
The Gleaner reports the improvements were aimed at keeping dust and grain debris from nearby homes and businesses.
Improvements to the facility included paved roads, silt barriers, tree breaks, pit baffles, enclosed belts, and a more efficient, shrouded dryer.
Gavilon's facility in downtown Henderson handled more than 22 million bushels of grain in 2016.
