Bunge has finalized its purchase of the grain elevator assets of North West Terminal Ltd. near Unity, Saskatchewan. The deal, first announced on Sept. 22, 2025, includes the grain elevator and associated storage facilities, while NWT will continue operating its fermentation and distillation plant. The transaction, subject to customary closing conditions, was expected to be completed in October.
The grain facility boasts a total storage capacity of 63,000 metric tonnes, ranking it among the largest in Western Canada. It features full cleaning and drying capabilities and is served by both Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) and Canadian National (CN), the country’s two largest railways.
“We’re excited to strengthen our presence in west central Saskatchewan and provide customers with the high level of service they expect from a grain industry leader like Bunge,” said Kyle Jeworski, head of Bunge in Canada.
Jeworski added that Bunge plans to invest in the facility to ensure smooth and efficient operations for the long term. The company also looks forward to being an active regional employer and contributing to community initiatives.
