The International Cooperation for Convergence of Technical Requirements for the Assessment of Feed Ingredients (ICCF) has released a draft guidance document on "Analytical Methods of Feed Ingredients" for public consultation. The document, developed by an Expert Working Group, provides recommendations for developing, validating, and transferring analytical methods in feed ingredient assessment.
The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), a founding member of ICCF, supports this initiative to establish common guidance for assessing new feed ingredients and new uses of existing ingredients.
Stakeholders can submit comments until April 3, 2025, using the feedback document available on the ICCF website. The guidance covers methods for measuring active substances in feed matrices, animal tissues, and excreta, as well as methods for specifying feed ingredients.
The ICCF Steering Committee adopted the draft on March 3, 2025. This initiative aims to standardize analytical practices across the feed industry, potentially improving quality control and regulatory compliance.
Interested parties can access the draft document and feedback form at iccffeed.org and submit comments to [email protected]. AFIA encourages industry stakeholders to review and comment on the draft to help improve the final publication.
