Kalmbach Feeds and the Farmer Veteran Coalition announced today the completion of their summer partnership, which raised $25,000 to support military veterans moving into agricultural careers.
The funds came from sales of Kalmbach’s limited-edition Henhouse Reserve Summer Berry Supplement Block, created to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. The company will present the donation at the 2026 Farmer Veteran Stakeholders Conference in Williamsburg, Virginia.
The partnership, which started in June 2026, directed a portion of product proceeds to FVC’s core programs. The money will fund the Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund and the Homegrown By Heroes label, both designed to help active-duty service members and veterans build financially viable farming operations.
“When we launched this campaign to coincide with America’s 250th anniversary, our goal was to honor those who have served our country and are now choosing to feed it,” said Aimee Koontz, Brand Manager at Kalmbach Feeds. “We are thrilled by the overwhelming response from our customers and dealer network.”
Jeanette Lombardo, CEO of the Farmer Veteran Coalition, said the donation will help the organization reach more veterans with capital, mentorship and technical assistance. “We couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate this milestone than at our national Stakeholders Conference, surrounded by the very men and women this partnership was built to support,” Lombardo said.
The check presentation will take place during the 12th Annual Farmer Veteran Stakeholders Conference, scheduled for Oct. 25-27, 2026, at the Greater Williamsburg Sports and Events Center.
This year’s conference theme is “Scaling Sustainably: Practical Innovation for Small & Mid-Sized Veteran Farms.” The three-day event will feature educational sessions, guest speakers, expert panels, a farm tour and networking opportunities for veterans from all service branches.
