Dan Schurr, a longtime member and former chair of the CHS Board of Directors, resigned his position effective March 30, 2026, after accepting a seat on the Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company board of directors. Schurr’s resignation comes before the completion of his current term, which was set to end in December 2026.
CHS Board Chair C.J. Blew expressed gratitude for Schurr’s two decades of service, highlighting his vision and dedication as key factors in CHS’s growth and strength. “We know he will continue to be an advocate for cooperatives and for CHS,” Blew said.
Schurr was first elected to the CHS Board by members in Region 7 in 2006 and served as Board chair from 2017 through 2025. Region 7 covers Iowa, Missouri, and nine other states in the south and southeast.
His board seat will remain vacant until the 2026 CHS Annual Meeting, when members from Region 7 will elect a new director to serve a three-year term.
CHS and Nationwide have a longstanding collaboration in providing trusted products and services to cooperative owners.
