The Didion Foundation's 17th annual Strong Communities Golf Outing raised $120,000 to support local initiatives in agriculture education, healthy living and emergency services, the organization announced Monday.
The August event drew more than 150 participants and nearly 60 sponsors. A highlight was a $20,000 donation to the Food + Farm Exploration Center in Plover, Wisconsin, a hands-on learning destination connecting people to modern agriculture.
"We're proud to support organizations like the Food + Farm Exploration Center that make a real impact," said Riley Didion, CEO of Didion, Inc.
Alexandria Behrend, executive director of the center, said partnerships like Didion's support "innovative programs and hands-on learning experiences."
Over the years, the foundation's initiatives have funded life-saving equipment for local fire departments, FFA leadership opportunities, hydroponics systems in area schools and community fitness programs.
