Grain Craft has finalized its acquisition of Bunge Global’s North America dry corn and corn masa milling business, officially closing the deal on July 1. The purchase includes six milling facilities, a transload and packaging site in Querétaro, Mexico, and a distribution warehouse in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
The transaction adds approximately 600 employees to Grain Craft’s workforce and expands its footprint with three dry corn mills in Crete, Nebraska; Atchison, Kansas; and Danville, Illinois, as well as three dry masa facilities in Muleshoe, Texas; Red Oak, Iowa; and Worthington, Indiana.
“After months of anticipation and preparation, we are excited to officially welcome our new Corn Milling team members to the Grain Craft family,” said Pete Frederick, president and CEO of Grain Craft. “We look forward to bringing this expertise into our broader food ingredient offerings.”
Originally announced in April, the sale aligns with Bunge’s strategy to focus on core areas more closely tied to its global value chains. Julio Garros, Bunge’s co-president of agribusiness, said the decision was made after evaluating how the corn milling business fit with the company’s long-term goals.
Grain Craft is the largest independent wheat flour miller in the U.S. and now broadens its reach into corn-based ingredients through this acquisition.
