Envu acquires Actellic products from Syngenta for stored grain protection

Deal expands company's portfolio to offer integrated pest control solutions globally.

Envu

Envu, a global environmental science company, has signed an agreement with Syngenta to acquire several Actellic insecticide products for use in the stored grain segment worldwide. The acquisition, expected to close in the second half of 2025, will enhance Envu's ability to provide comprehensive pest control solutions for grain storage.

The deal includes Actellic 50EC and ActellicPro 500EC Insecticides, liquid formulations available in Latin America and EMEA; Actellic Smoke Generator No. 20, available in EMEA; and Actellic Gold Dusting Power, a dust formulation available in Africa.

Tiffany Fremder, chief marketing officer for Envu, said, "With this product acquisition, we'll provide customers an integrated solution for controlling damaging pests that threaten their livelihood and our global food supply."

The acquisition aligns with Envu's commitment to food security and sustainability. In 2023, Envu products helped protect 63 million tons of grain globally. With an estimated 14% of the world's food lost after harvest, resulting in $400 billion in annual losses, effective grain storage solutions are crucial.

Envu CEO Gilles Galliou emphasized the company's dedication to sustainable practices and proper product stewardship. "This product acquisition will enable us to offer a holistic solution to growers and grain traders to employ a rotational strategy and effectively manage pest resistance," he said.

The agreement involves only product assets, with no employee or facility transfers included. Regulatory and customary approvals are pending for the deal's completion.
