The pace of this year’s winter wheat harvest in South Dakota remains well ahead of the long-term average says a report by the Associated Press.
The federal Agriculture Department says in its weekly crop report that 79% of the crop is in the bin, compared with 57% on average.
The spring wheat harvest in the state is now one-third complete. That’s also well ahead of the average pace.
The majority of most crops in South Dakota remain rated mostly in fair or good condition.
