The Pipestone County Star's Kyle Kuphal reported that Chandler Feed is embarking on a significant renovation project at its Pipestone location, replacing old structures with modern, state-of-the-art facilities. CEO Derek Krosschell announced plans to construct two new grain bins, a grain leg, a dryer and a receiving dump pit, following the collapse of a grain bin last fall. The project, which will replace and expand existing capabilities, was accelerated due to the recent incident.
Construction is slated to begin in spring, pending city approval. A public hearing is scheduled for February 19 to address variance applications for structure height. Chandler Feed, which acquired the Pipestone location in 2023, aims to have the facility fully operational by fall. The company operates additional locations in Chandler, Edgerton, Hardwick, Leota and Woodstock.
