Vetagro, an international group with Italian roots that specializes in precision animal nutrition, has officially opened its first manufacturing facility in the United States. The new 40,000-square-foot production and distribution plant was built on a 14-acre property at Mistletoe Hall Business Park in Easton, Maryland.
The new plant will expand Vetagro’s production capacity and bring its supply chain closer to North American customers, while also supporting exports to international markets.
“Today is a milestone in Vetagro’s history. This facility allows us to bring our science and expertise closer to our North American customers, and we are proud to begin this new chapter here in Easton,” said Andrea Piva, CEO of the Vetagro Group.
In keeping with its identity as a science-driven company, Vetagro held a scientific seminar before the ceremony, titled “Boarding for the Future: Vetagro’s Route toward Global Innovation.” Speakers included Dr. Andrea Rosati (European Federation of Animal Science, EAAP), Prof. Mike Van Amburgh (Cornell University), Prof. Brian Aldridge (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign), Dr. Francesc Molist (Schothorst Feed Research) and Todd Thurman (Swine Insights International).
“Vetagro was born from research, and science is still the way we grow. That is why we chose to open our first U.S. plant with a day dedicated to sharing knowledge with the scientific community and our partners. Every product we make starts with a scientific question, and we believe progress in animal nutrition happens when we answer those questions together,” said Ester Grilli, COO of the Vetagro Group.
Looking ahead, Grilli added: “Easton is not a finish line, but a new starting line. From here, we want to grow with our customers, our partners and the local community, and help shape a more sustainable future for animal production.”
