
Scoular has released its fourth annual sustainability report, underscoring key initiatives aimed at promoting regenerative agriculture, reducing carbon emissions, and improving employee safety. The report, covering Scoular’s sustainability progress from June 2023 to May 2024, showcases the company’s commitment to its five sustainability pillars established in 2020.
Among the notable achievements, Scoular launched a regenerative agriculture pilot program to encourage farmers to adopt soil health practices and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The company also trialed emissions-reduction technology at its sustainability hub in Adrian, Missouri, installing solar panels and energy-saving technology to lower its carbon footprint.
“Our fiscal year 2024 sustainability report reflects our continued commitment to driving our sustainability pillars,” said Paul Maass, CEO of Scoular. “We are well positioned to invest in ways that support our producers, customers, and partners in meeting their goals while creating value.”
Scoular’s sustainability report highlights several key accomplishments, including efforts to reduce its carbon footprint by piloting solar panels and energy-saving technology at its showcase hub in Missouri. The company also launched a regenerative agriculture program in partnership with wheat milling customers, incentivizing growers to adopt farming practices that enhance soil health and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, the Scoular Foundation issued 217 grants to various organizations, while employees contributed more than 1,700 volunteer hours to their communities. The company also demonstrated a commitment to diversity and inclusion by hosting Perennial, a virtual agribusiness conference for women, which attracted over 250 participants. Lastly, Scoular made significant strides in workplace safety, increasing safety engagement by 32% through enhanced reporting of observations and hazards.
