Four Iowa corn farmers have been elected to leadership positions at the U.S. Grains and BioProducts Council’s 65th Annual Board of Delegates Meeting held last week in Grand Rapids.
Greg Alber was elected as an At-Large Director and Jolene Riessen as Corn Sector Director. They join current Iowa representative Curt Mether, who serves as an At-Large Director.
Additionally, Stu Swanson was appointed Western Hemisphere Advisory Team Lead and Keaton Krueger as Innovation and Sustainability Advisory Team Vice Lead.
“It is incredibly important that Iowa corn farmers have a seat at the table when it comes to guiding the work of the U.S. Grains and BioProducts Council,” said Iowa Corn Promotion Board President Ralph Lents.
The meeting focused on advocating for agricultural export and trade priorities. Iowa Corn leaders emphasized the importance of maintaining and expanding international markets for Iowa-grown corn and corn products.
