Multiple agencies are working together to salvage as much as they can from a slow-burning grain bin fire in Nuckolls County, NE, reports Nebraska TV.
Emergency Manager Tim Lewis said natural pockets of heat built up in 800,000 bushels of grain stored in a bin at the Sedan co-op, causing pockets of the grain to ignite back in December.
Since then, the Edgar Fire Department and a private contractor have been working together to mitigate hot spots and salvage as much grain as they can.
