Man rescued after falling 30 feet into grain elevator

Incident occurred in Garfield, Washington, at the PNW Farmers Cooperative.

A man suffered serious injuries after falling inside a grain elevator in Garfield, Washington, on February 15.

According to reports, the 60-year-old man fell 30 feet through an opening where grain trucks dump loads into the bottom of the elevator.

Several local fire departments responded to the call to the elevator on 3rd Street, listed as the Pacific Northwest (PNW) Farmers Cooperative. The man was rescued by a technical ropes team and flown to the hospital to treat several broken bones.

The man is listed in serious but stable condition.
