KSU IGP Institute Offers Grain Marketing, Risk Management Courses

Two virtual courses available in April and May

The Kansas State University IGP Institute grain procurement and purchasing course focuses on the mechanics of purchasing raw materials and features detailed discussions of cash futures markets, ocean transportation, contract rules and arbitration.

The risk management course covers futures trading, hedging, and general risk management. Grain buyers and merchandisers learn about managing price risk in a volatile environment.

IGP–KSU Grain Procurement and Purchasing (Virtual) April 5–28, 2022

  • This short course consists of eight consecutive sessions delivered online across the month of April
  • Topics covered include the U.S. Grain Production and Export Marketing System; Overview of Ocean Freight, Dry-Bulk Markets; Container Markets and Freight; USDA Grain Grades and Standards implementation across the export system and how to get what you want; and more

IGP–KSU Applied Agricultural Sales (Virtual) May 3–26, 2022

This course focuses on professional selling in agricultural and related industries. It is especially geared for those who want to explore or enhance their skills as salespeople in agribusiness.
