On a bright, sunny Wednesday outside Lyons, KS, a small group of Chinese grain buyers stopped by Splitter Farms. They were poking around Splitter's field of sorghum, reports KSN.
Jesse McCurry points out there are more well-watered crops in Kansas, but he says the point is not finding the perfect field. It's finding the perfect buyer and building relationships.
"These are serious buyers," McCurry, executive director at Kansas Grain Sorghum told KSN. "This group accounts for more than 50% of sorghum imports into China, and we're happy to host them here today."
McCurry says it's important to not let the noise of tariff talks get in the way of building relationships.
