Trump expresses frustration with Phase 1 trade deal

On Jan. 15, it seemed like the U.S. and China had avoided a quick descent into a new Cold War with the signing of a preliminary trade deal, reports Farm Progress.

But four months later with a virus prompting the worst global health crisis in a century, the world’s two largest economies are escalating disputes across several fronts that never really fell silent.

Trump is even expressing frustration with the trade pact. On Thursday, Trump said he doesn’t want to speak with Xi and the U.S. would “save $500 billion” if it cut off ties with China.
